Thin Hair

Hello again! This month I decided to share my journey on thin hair. I inherited thin hair from both sides of my parents families, Several years ago, my hair just kept getting thinner and thinner to the point where you could see my ears. Something about hair is very fundamental to a women’s feeling of self-worth and confidence – rightfully or wrongfully so. I am not a vain person so I really have no idea why it affected me so much, but I really hated it. Bob was still alive at the time and he set about researching things that people do for hair loss. I went to my dermatologist and my family doctor. I started out tweaking my vitamins to match with lots of B vitamins and biotin and started a collagen shake every morning. My dermatologist recommended micro-needling (spinning your blood to get out the stem cells and reinjecting them into your scalp to encourage new hair growth). I did that three months in a row and one more time.  I really do think it’s probably a good thing; however, it is uncomfortable and I hated it so much.  I would do it again, but since other things have worked, I got away from that. I do have definite opinions on how you should do that. If you’re thinking of it please reach out to me because I felt like a big science experiment the first couple times and it was not nice. I also bought what I call my ET hair hat that does red laser light therapy on my scalp that I absolutely love. It was expensive, but I do it every other day for half an hour and it feels fantastic. Kinda like going in a tanning booth or something it just makes me feel good and whether or not it helps my hair,  I like it ????

About the same time I started having high blood pressure so my family doctor said there is a blood pressure medicine that also helps with hair loss (spironolactone) so I started on that. I think that was the turning point in losing less hair, which helped make my hair thicker. A couple years later my dermatologist recommended an oral minoxidil one time a day which I think really helped thicken my hair, but also helped grow hair on my face which wasn’t so nice ????
Anyway, my hair is much nicer now than it has been in many years and I’m very conscious and careful to keep it that way. I did sign up for nutrafol which I hear is very good herbal regimen but I have such trouble swallowing pills that four more pills a day was just more than I could bear since I’m happy with my hair now.  I am looking forward to hearing from you.
