Another one of my “on a walk/jog” random musings. When I was in cross country in high school I used to hate it when I ran hard, and, looking at the horizon, it felt like I was running uphill only to turn around and have the horizon look like it was uphill the other way. Made me so discouraged. So I played a game with myself where anything that wasn’t markedly uphill I treated as down hill.  This changed my attitude and that made my runs so much easier.  It didn’t change the reality, but it changed MY REALITY. And that changed everything. I have used that same principle over and over again in my life. I try to remember that the horizon always looks uphill, so I  tilt my Earth so I do not feel like I am always running uphill. This conserves my energy for the times when life is really uphill. I wonder if  this could help someone else running a long race ? It’s not a matter of altitude, it’s a matter of attitude! Attitude is everything.
